Turkey Prices in the Upstate — Updated 11/26

Take advantage of my footwork. If you live in the Upstate of South Carolina, here’s how turkey prices are breaking down:

Bi-Lo:  $.79/lb

Publix:  $.69/lb

Walmart:  $1.18/lb for FRESH turkey

SavMor:  $.67/lb

Ingles:  $.68/lb

Bloom: $.59/lb (Thanks to Sandi for this update)

Unless otherwise noted, the prices are for the cheapest house brand of frozen turkey. Walmart didn’t list one in their ad, but their fresh turkey listing is what you’ll need to know when you realize Wednesday night that you forgot to defrost the turkey or, even worse, forgot to buy one altogether.

If you’re looking for Butterball prices, you’re on your own. I’m looking to help people interested in SAVING MONEY here, and ANY turkey is delicious if you brine it like Alton Brown does.

I intend to do this every holiday. I promise to do it sooner for Christmas.

Happy Turkey Day!

  1. Bloom .59lb

  2. Thank you, Sandi! I can’t believe I missed that. High as the prices are at Bloom, they always have VERY good doorbusters. I’m editing the post to include it.
